Patient Service Centers
NICL Laboratories maintain 10 Patient Service Centers for convenient patient access. STAT testing is available in several locations for patients convenience.
Education and Training
Training of clients staff in phlebotomy and proper specimen collection is provided upon request.
Inservice presentations are provided to client staff on a variety of topics such as Interpretation of Laboratory Results, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Microbiology Specimen Collection and Handling, Safety, Handwashing Technique, etc.
Laboratory Directors and Specialists are available to provide consultation regarding laboratory results on tests and other topics related to laboratory testing.
A registered compliance specialist is available to advise and/or monitor clients procedures and policies to assure compliance with various state and federal regulatory requirements.
NICL Laboratories periodically organize focused seminars and publish educational and information newsletters and posters.
Reporting
All test results are printed on two part forms with abnormal test results flagged and reference ranges indicated. One copy is retained at the laboratory for medical record support. Two copies are provided to the client.
Routine tests are completed within 24 hours. Final culture reports require a minimum of 48 hours from the time of receipt. The reporting time on esoteric test results varies depending on the complexity of test procedures.
Test results are delivered daily via courier, printer, customer PC, computer-to-computer, Internet or fax. Duplicate test reports can be printed off the computer file up to one year from time of testing, in case of misplaced or lost results.
Repeat testing will be performed at no charge, when, in the attending physician's opinion, the result does not correlate with the patient's clinical findings.
Supplies
NICL Laboratories will provide all supplies and forms necessary to collect specimens for laboratory testing. A form is available for ordering these items when stock needs replacement.
Courier Service
Convenient courier service is available daily to pickup specimens collected by the facility and to deliver supplies, forms, and/or reports.
